Trombone Shorty written by Troy Andrews and illustrated by Brian Collier has it all this week!  It celebrates African American achievements in the arts through the telling of the story of Grammy nominated musician Troy Andrews.  His story includes growing up in New Orleans and the Mardi Gras celebration they host each year.  This book also received a Caldecott Honor for it’s illustrations and also a Coretta Scott King Award winner for the author and illustrator.  I will be sharing Storyline Online’s link of Angela Bassett reading Trombone Shorty on Thursday, February 11th at 10:30 a.m.
